Paddle Trips (Potomac River)

Enjoy a gentle float trip down the upper Potomac River adjacent to Shepherdstown. We have access to a 20 mile section of rapid-free river that is perfect for relaxing paddle trips. Bring your swim suit, fishing rod, or a picnic and have a blast. You may choose between single sit-on top or sit-inside kayaks, tandem kayaks, or 2 or 3 person canoes. Paddle boards are only available for the Dargan Bend trip. Call the shop to schedule your adventure (304-876-3000).
Note: We cannot transport any children under 8 years old in our vehicles and all passengers must be at least 4'9" for safety.


Pedal and Paddle Trip - $100 per person / $90 with 48hr pre-registration
Minimum 2 people for this trip
Cycle 5 miles to Snyder's Landing on the C&O canal towpath, then paddle back to Shepherdstown. Average duration is 3 to 4 hours.
Departure times:    Wednesday through Sundays: 11:30am / 1:30pm

Snyder's Landing to Shepherdstown - $85 per person / $74 with 48hr pre-registration

Taylor's Landing to Shepherdstown - $100 per person / $90 with 48hr pre-registration

Shepherdstown Boat Ramp - $70 per person / $60 with 48hr pre-registration
Minimum 2 people for this trip
Paddle out and back from Shepherdstown boat ramp for up to 4 hours.
Departure times:    Wednesday through Sundays

Reservations

  • Reservations can be made in person or via phone (304-876-3000).
  • We strongly recommend reservations. 
  • Reservations must be paid in full. Payment is non-refundable except in the cases of bad weather or high water.
  • We will gladly serve walk-ins to the best of our ability, but do not guarantee service.
  • Please arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to your reservation time! The transport will not wait for you.

Rental Policies

  • A valid credit card and photo ID is required by one person from each party.
  • Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • For safety we do not permit paddlers to embark on trips alone.
  • NO ALCOHOL. No intoxicated persons. No exceptions.
  • Payments are non-refundable.
    (Exception to this policy: Cancellations by Pedal and Paddle due to weather, river conditions, etc.)
  • For safety reasons, we can only shuttle persons 8 years or older and at least 4'9" tall in our vehicles.
  • Signed waiver required from all participants
